Another fab day!
After a slightly chilly start, the weather has been brilliant again today, allowing us to see Paris in all its glory.
We headed straight for the Eiffel Tower, and up to the 2nd floor, where many photos were taken in all directions.
Once back on terra firma, we crossed the road to the Bâteaux Parisiens pontoon, and almost immediately boarded a boat for our cruise down the Seine.
The cruise really allowed us to appreciate the sights of Paris in comfort, whilst munching on our yummy sandwiches - freshly made at breakfast time, PGL-style, by our own fair hand...
We all learned a lot more about Paris from the informative onboard commentary, and were amazed by the lady leading the cruise, who spoke 8 languages more-or-less fluently (wow!)
After our cruise we drove through Paris, past many of my old haunts, to the Cité des Sciences at La Villette, in the north-eastern corner of the city. Unfortunately, due to even more horrendous than usual traffic, we ended up with less time than hoped for - but still managed to learn how to avoid Swine Flu by playing a fantastic interactive game (I know it looks a bit like a weird disco, but it was educational -honest!)
We then popped outside for a quick group photo in front of La Géode - a big IMAX-style cinema - before heading off to brave the rush-hour traffic on our way back to the Château!
And still the fun was not over - supper tonight involved a little surprise...SNAILS! Many brave individuals tackled this new experience...and some even enjoyed it!
So...our last evening has come, and already pupils have been overheard saying "I can't believe we're going home tomorrow already - it's gone so fast!"
