Quelle journée fabuleuse! Nous nous sommes tous très bien amusés aujourd'hui!
We are having a fantastic time - today we spent the morning in the nearest town, Brie-Comte-Robert (Obby was very pleased about that!), where the children did a Town Trail, navigating their way around the town centre with only French clues to help them, and minimal assistance from their accompanying teachers. Some excellent teamwork was on show, as well as some very pleasing French knowledge. They then had 45 minutes to wander around le marché de Brie, a typical (i.e.fantastic) little market. A few interesting purchases, including 2 whole rotisserie chickens (!), "un kilo de bananes", a very pretty dress and the blingest belt you have ever seen!
We then returned to the Château for a picnic lunch in the grounds, followed by Molly M's birthday cake.
The afternoon was spent at the Château, where the pupils were divided into 4 groups for abseiling, climbing, archery and team-building. Great fun, and really nice to see quite a few of them pushing the boundaries of what they had previously achieved...One of the PGL instructors told me that the kids were the nicest group he had ever had!
We had a half-hour swim after supper, and then an absolutely HYSTERICAL "Miss Château 2009" competition - the twist being that the contestants were Jamie S, Piers E, Olly M and Lewis N (as girls) and Ailsa M (as a boy). REALLY funny...as the photos will prove! In a tight finish, Lewis emerged victorious over Jamie and Olly in second and third place respectively.
So...another great day, and lots of very happy, very tired children...with a day at Parc Astérix and a day in Paris still to go! Woo-hoo!

I am attaching one or two photos to give you a taster, but will have to check the list tomorrow morning to make sure I don't include anyone I shouldn't...
